Meet Laurie.

Please help us give Laurie all the love as she has completed over 400 HIIPfit Classes! Way to go Laurie! We are so proud of her hard work in the HIIPfit room. She has been one of the original KHF HIIPsters and it has been a joy watching her fitness journey progress. Especially recently during her prenatal stages with her new little one joining her in all the classes :)

Laurie started her Kyle House Fitness journey with us in November 2016. Since that time, she has participated in our 30 Day Challenges, crushed classes in the HIIPfit room and also has worked with some of our personal trainers! It’s been great being along side her on this transformation. Laurie totally gets that fitness is a lifestyle and has inspired many along the way.

We were able to sit down with Laurie for a quick chat and we got to learn a little more about this HIIPfit Hero. Here are some of the questions we asked her. Let’s see what she had to say:

Laurie Completes Over 400 HIIPfit Classes

What is your favorite thing about working out at KHF?

“The accountability and consistent format are my favorite things about KHF. I know what to expect but the movements are always changing so my body doesn’t adapt and plateau.”

What is your favorite part of the HIIPfit high intensity interval class?

“I love the cool down. Our lives are filled with balancing chaos and the cool down is a dedicated time to focus on slowing down, stretching out my muscles, breathe, and thank myself for all the work I just put in. I also love that its something that is never rushed or skipped over. The instructors put as much priority on the cool down as the warm up and I appreciate that.”

What has been your biggest fitness success?

“My biggest success has been pushing through workouts the last 9 months during pregnancy. I actually think I’ve attended class more being pregnant than before. I’ve been lucky that I’ve not been extremely nauseated and because of that I’ve been able to continue class. The workout I did prior to pregnancy doesn’t look exactly like the workout I’m doing now at 37 weeks pregnant, but thats what I love about this class. My running has moved to walking with more inclines and the instructors continue to offer modifications for the floor work.”


What is your favorite exercise or movement in HIIPfit?

“Oh there are so many! I love back work. Flys, rows, pullovers. Especially when combined with a yoga pose.”

What would you tell someone thinking of diving into the KHF fitness experience?

“My health journey has been up and down the past few years because of surgery and pregnancy. KHF has been a consistent part of that journey. The hardest part of any workout is getting there-Just getting to the parking lot and walking in the door. Once I walk through those doors I have all I need to get a good workout in. Exceptional instructors, friendly and encouraging community, great music, challenging movements, and lighting to make me look like I’m camera ready at any time..”

What are your future fitness goals at KHF?

“I’m curious to see how my body responds to easing back into workouts post baby. I am so amazed by the body and I can’t help but be amazed that I’m growing a human. My goal and focus is to be present, grateful, and push beyond what my mind thinks I can do. I’m looking forward to being able to run again and strengthen my core!”

How are you going to continue your new and improved lifestyle?

“Life with a baby will make finding time for a workout more challenging. But I know classes take place ALL day from sunup to sundown so there I have lots of options to get a sweat in.”
