Meet Jacob Wilburn - KHF’s Community Manager

Our very own Kentucky Wildcat! Jacob is the smiling face you have been enjoying in classes, training sessions, and as our very own Community Manager. He wears many hats in helping support KHF with our members and team. We love this dude!

Whether you’re taking a class or being led in class, it is always a joy to have Jacob alongside you in a workout. In the HIIPfit room, he brings bright and powerful energy with his background in track and field he is an animal on the treads. Jacob has also recently acquired his personal training certification and has been taking on new clients each week! Way to go Jacob!

We were able to sit down with Jacob for a quick chat and we got to learn a little more about this HIIPfit Hero. Here are some of the questions we asked Jacob. Let’s see what he had to say:

What is your favorite thing about working out at KHF?

“Honestly, there are so many favorite things I could name. The atmosphere, the workouts, etc.. If I had to narrow it down to one answer, it would be the people. Whether it be my co-workers or the clients, both make KHF the amazing place that it is!”

What is your favorite part of the HIIPfit high-intensity interval class?

“Usually I am teaching the class, but when I'm not I love to get the chance to work out and sweat with the clients. I love having the chance to also take classes from my co-workers and learn from them. The last part would be the balance of the workout. Cardio, weights, and yoga make for a great workout that always leaves me feeling like the best version of myself!”

What has been your biggest fitness success at KHF?

“ My biggest success for me personally would be the growth that I had made since I started at KHF until now. Being able to grow as a person mentally and physically has been life-changing. I've been able to come outside of my comfort zone, become a leader, and truly be myself.

What is your favorite exercise or movement in HIIPfit?

“They are all equally challenging, but if I had to pick one specific movement it would probably be a thruster. The mixture of upper and lower body, core, and cardio with this movement is what I love the most.”

What would you tell someone thinking of diving into the KHF fitness experience?

“It will change your life forever. Seeing yourself get stronger and healthier is so rewarding. Seeing your confidence grow as you hit milestones and goals while being celebrated by those around you is the most rewarding feeling you can feel. Plus you will look and feel great about yourself!”

What are your future fitness goals at KHF?

“Main one would be my confidence. This is probably the biggest thing I struggle with daily. I want to be more confident in my workouts, but also confident as an instructor, trainer, and manager so that I can help others be the best they can be. Some small goals that I want to continue to work on would be yoga. Would love to be able to hold a handstand as well as working on the half moon. The last goal would be to max out the treadmill at 12.5 for one full minute or longer.”

How are you going to continue your new and improved lifestyle?

“Being consistent. Knowing that everyday is just one more step closer to the goals that I have set for myself. Pre-booking the classes I am going to take for the week, programming my workouts that I am going to do on my own or with co-workers, and track my progress more often using the amazing FIT3D scanner that we have to keep me on track!
