Today, we shine the spotlight on one of our exceptional members, Katie, who has recently achieved a remarkable feat by crossing the 400 milestone marker. Join us as we delve into Katie's fitness journey, her experiences at KHF since joining in March 2017, and the valuable lessons she's learned along the way.

Katie holds a special place in our fitness family as one of the original HIIPsters who joined shortly after KHF opened its doors. Her unwavering dedication and positive energy make her a standout presence in every class. Whether she's breaking a sweat or motivating others, Katie embodies the spirit of our community. Kyle House, one of our esteemed trainers at KHF, emphasizes the significance of consistency in any fitness journey. He acknowledges Katie's commitment and underscores the principle that consistency pays off. Katie's achievement of reaching the 400 milestone is a testament to her persistent efforts and commitment to her health and wellness.

In a recent interview with Katie, we had the pleasure of gaining insight into her experience at KHF and the unique aspects of her fitness journey. From the challenges she faced to the triumphs she celebrated, Katie shared her personal story, offering inspiration to fellow members and anyone on a fitness journey.

What is your favorite thing about working out at KHF?

“The amazing people, the music, and the energy! I can’t name only one thing. The energy is always so great, and the class flies by. l also love that you can pick a class, like Lower Body or Core, to focus on one area of your body. At the same time, that targeted class will always have so much variety in terms of different exercises and levels of intensity.!”

What is your favorite part of the HIIPfit high-intensity interval class?

“All of it, really, but I’m a big fan of the burnout. I love that they incorporate power yoga into the last 10 minutes of strength training and floor work so that your heart rate stays up the whole time.”

What has been your biggest fitness success at KHF?

“I feel like I’ve really strengthened every part of my body. My upper body used to be much weaker, and I used to have a lot of back pain. Since I’ve been strengthening and toning the muscles in my back, I experience a lot less pain. ”

What is your favorite exercise or movement in HIIPfit?

“Bicycles with a band... the Mike J. special! 😝I also like any series of squats, lunges or step-ups that incorporate bands or weights.”

What would you tell someone thinking of diving into the KHF fitness experience?

“I actually do say this to people all the time.... KHF is a great place to start a workout routine. There are people of all different fitness levels at KHF. You can make any exercise as intense or as easy as you want it to be. You can really go at your own pace, and no one will judge you for that. Everyone is very supportive. Also, it's really the best workout packed into one class: running, strength training and yoga.!”

What are your future fitness goals at KHF?

“My goal is to keep my workout routine consistent throughout the years so that I don’t experience dips in my athletic ability, flexibility, strength, endurance, etc. I think it’s really important that I work out regularly. Once I stop, it’s so hard to pick it back up again.”
